Jared Davis, clarinet
Jared Davis held the position of Associate Principal and E-flat Clarinetist of the Richmond Symphony (VA) from 2004-2018. He also served as Acting Second Clarinetist with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for the 2016-2017 season. Additionally, he has performed with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, North Carolina Symphony, Virginia Symphony, Ft. Worth Symphony, Phoenix Symphony, Wichita Symphony, Tulsa Symphony, Texarkana Symphony, and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. He has participated in the Aspen Music Festival, Brevard Music Center summer festival, Staunton Music Festival, Wintergreen Music Festival, and most recently the Colorado Music Festival in Boulder. As a soloist with the Richmond Symphony, he performed Carl Maria von Weber’s Concerto No. 2 for clarinet and Richard Strauss’s Duett Concertino for clarinet and bassoon. Other noted performances include the World Premiere of Mason Bates’s Rags and Hymns of River City with the Atlantic Chamber Ensemble and twice as a Guest Artist at the OU Clarinet Symposium and the International Clarinet Association conference. Davis holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Oklahoma having studied with David Etheridge, and a Master of Music from Northwestern University where he studied with Russell Dagon. He currently serves on the administration for the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and maintains an active freelance career throughout the U.S.
